Mohamed Hamuda has always understood the importance of the media as a tool for lobbying and fostering awareness.  The media has allowed Hamuda to reach a greater range of people, which has increased the exposure of his projects and campaigns.  Specifically, he has utilized the media during his years of work in the field of democratic development, where he focused on empowering younger generations.   Clearly, the media has played a prominent role in allowing Hamuda to have a more significant impact upon communities.  

Handling the media in a polarized society during a period of war comprises of many risks and challenges.  One of these risks is to be associated with one of the parties in conflict, or to be portrayed as someone whose actions are not consistent with one’s objectives.  Hamuda has independently managed the different parties in the media in a highly professional manner.  He avoided any favoritism, and instead, skillfully involved various media channels and platforms to cover his work and community projects from different perspectives, while also being able to publish reports and data through these numerous media outlets.

Due to his vast network of relationships, Hamuda has worked as a consultant with advertising companies to assist in campaign management and social media communications.  He was able to do so through his accumulated experience of civil work, and his understanding of local and international media channels.

Hamuda has always said that the media is a double-edged sword that one must be cautious with while handling.  He asserts that it is imperative to preserve originality in media discourse and to not get drawn into the excitement and popularity that can occur while appearing on the mass media.  Only the real information can prevail against the negative influences of the press; therefore, your ability to stay true to yourself is the most important thing to remember, regardless of the media’s depictions.
